The Civiqs surveys of likely voters in Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, and Missouri were conducted from November 4-7, 2022.
Civiqs has released a series of surveys of likely voters in key 2022 election states.
In the race for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin, Republican Ron Johnson narrowly leads Democrat Mandela Barnes, 50% to 49%. Johnson has a net negative favorability rating, 44% favorable to 52% unfavorable. Barnes also has a 44% favorable rating among likely voters in Wisconsin, with 51% holding an unfavorable view.
Democrat Tony Evers is up by three percentage points over Republican Tim Michels in the race for Wisconsin Governor, 51% to 48%. Evers has a 47% favorability rating, with 49% of likely voters in Wisconsin viewing him unfavorably. Michels is viewed less favorably than Evers among likely voters, with 41% favorable and 51% unfavorable.
Likely voters in Wisconsin give President Joe Biden a net negative favorable rating, with 44% holding a favorable view, and 52% viewing him unfavorably.
Democrat Tim Ryan trails Republican J.D. Vance in the race for U.S. Senate in Ohio, 51% to 46%. Both candidates have very similar favorability ratings. Vance is viewed favorably by 42% of Ohio voters, compared to 43% who view Ryan favorably. About half (49%) hold an unfavorable view of Vance, while 50% say the same about Ryan.
The race for Governor of Ohio is not as close as the U.S. Senate race, as Republican incumbent Mike DeWine leads Democrat Nan Whaley, 53% to 39%. Despite his lead, 46% of Ohio likely voters view DeWine unfavorably, while 41% hold a favorable view. With one-fifth (20%) of voters still unsure about Whaley, she gets a 35% favorable rating and a 45% unfavorable rating.
President Joe Biden receives a 38% favorable rating and a 57% unfavorable rating from likely voters in Ohio.
Republican Todd Young is ahead of Democratic challenger Thomas McDermott, Jr. in the race for U.S. Senate in Indiana, 49% to 38%. Young is viewed unfavorably by 49% of likely voters in Indiana, and favorably by 40%. McDermott is less well known: he receives a 31% favorable rating and a 38% unfavorable rating, with 31% who remain unsure.
President Joe Biden holds a 34% favorable rating and 62% unfavorable rating among likely 2022 voters in Indiana.
In the race for the U.S. Senate in Missouri, Republican Eric Schmitt holds a commanding lead over Democrat Trudy Busch Valentine, 55% to 40%. Likely voters have a mixed opinion of Schmitt, as 49% view him favorably and 44% view him unfavorably. Busch Valentine receives a negative evaluation from Missouri likely voters, with 31% favorable, 49% unfavorable, and 21% unsure.
Voters in Missouri give President Joe Biden a 33% favorable rating, with 62% viewing him unfavorably.
Civiqs surveyed 739 likely voters in Wisconsin, 716 likely voters in Ohio, 707 likely voters in Indiana, and 746 likely voters in Missouri from November 4-7, 2022. The surveys were conducted online, among selected members of the Civiqs research panel. Sampled individuals were emailed by Civiqs and responded using a personalized link to the surveys at civiqs.com. The survey results are weighted by age, race, gender, education, and party identification to be representative of the population of likely voters in Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, and Missouri. The Wisconsin survey has a margin of error of ±3.7% at the 95% confidence level, accounting for the design effect due to weighting of 1.06. The Ohio survey has a margin of error of ±4.1% at the 95% confidence level, accounting for the design effect due to weighting of 1.26. The Indiana survey has a margin of error of ±4.7% at the 95% confidence level, accounting for the design effect due to weighting of 1.62. The Missouri survey has a margin of error of ±4.7% at the 95% confidence level, accounting for the design effect due to weighting of 1.74.
