Election 2022: New Civiqs Polls in Florida and North Carolina

The Civiqs surveys of likely voters in Florida and North Carolina were conducted from September 17-20, 2022.

Civiqs will be releasing surveys of likely voters in key 2022 election states through Election Day.

Florida

Republican Marco Rubio leads Democrat Val Demings 49% to 47% in the race for U.S. Senate in Florida. Rubio is viewed favorably by 41% of Florida likely voters, and unfavorably by 51%. Demings has a similar 40% favorable rating, with 47% unfavorable and 13% who are still unsure about her.

In the race for Governor of Florida, Republican Ron DeSantis leads Democrat Charlie Crist with a majority of likely voters, 52% to 45%. The candidates’ favorability ratings reflect these results: DeSantis is the most popular politician in the state, with a 51% favorable rating and 47% unfavorable. Crist is only viewed favorably by 37% of likely voters in Florida, and viewed unfavorably by 52%.

President Joe Biden receives a 42% favorable rating and 55% unfavorable rating among likely 2022 Florida voters.

North Carolina

In the race for U.S. Senate in North Carolina, Democrat Cheri Beasley leads Republican Ted Budd 49% to 48%. Beasley has a mixed favorability rating, 44% favorable to 45% unfavorable. Budd has a 41% favorable rating among likely voters in North Carolina, with 49% unfavorable.

Likely voters in North Carolina give President Joe Biden a net negative favorable rating, with 43% holding a favorable view, and 54% viewing him unfavorably.

Civiqs surveyed 617 likely voters in Florida and 586 likely voters in North Carolina from September 17-20, 2022. The surveys were conducted online, among selected members of the Civiqs research panel. Sampled individuals were emailed by Civiqs and responded using a personalized link to the surveys at civiqs.com. The survey results are weighted by age, race, gender, education, and party identification to be representative of the population of likely voters in Florida and North Carolina. The Florida survey has a margin of error of ±4.5% at the 95% confidence level, accounting for the design effect due to weighting of 1.28. The North Carolina survey has a margin of error of ±5.5% at the 95% confidence level, accounting for the design effect due to weighting of 1.87.
